Earwig

Earwig is a specialist digital platform we use at Vranch House School to record, track, and celebrate pupil progress. It helps us capture learning achievements in real time and link them directly to each child's Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) outcomes.

What is Earwig?

Cloud-based software designed specifically for schools, the ultimate tool for capturing learning evidence, grading, measuring progress, engaging parents, and generating comprehensive reports.

  • Evidence capture: Teachers and therapists can quickly record observations, photos, and videos of pupils' learning and development.
  • Assessment tool: Allows Vranch House to track progress against academic, social, emotional, and therapeutic targets on our bespoke curriculum.
  • Visual timelines: Each child's journey is displayed as a clear timeline, making progress easy to see and share with families.

How We Use Earwig at Vranch House

  • Personalised tracking: Every pupil has an EHCP. Earwig enables staff to link daily learning evidence directly to these individual targets, whether they are academic, therapeutic, or social.
  • Integrated approach: Because our pupils often receive therapies alongside education, Earwig allows us to record achievements across both areas, giving a holistic picture of development.
  • Family engagement: Parents and carers can view their child's progress through secure access, helping them stay connected with their child's learning journey, and also add evidence themselves.
  • Inspection-ready records: Earwig supports us in meeting inspection frameworks by providing clear, detailed evidence of pupil progress and outcomes.
