Oak Class

Oak pupils have all completed AQA certificates this year either in English or Maths, the AQA short course accreditations are chosen to reinforce the functional life skills across these subjects, and pupils have achieved pre-entry and entry level certificates.
Oak class pupils had starring roles in the Christmas Pantomime, Jack and The Beanstalk. It was an exciting but nerve-wracking time for them but they all put in amazing performances and were very happy to have taken part.
As part of our Transition Pathways programme pupils have been on weekly trips into the community; pupils have identified hobbies and interests they'd like to pursue now and into their adulthood, and we have looked at accessibility and cost in relation to this.
The pupils have also worked on their fine motor skills this year, particularly through cooking and art.
We enjoyed our visit to Positive Lights to take part in wheelchair printing with the Pelican Project, and at school we spray painted pumpkins at Halloween and used sparklers to celebrate Bonfire Night in performance art, as well as creating sea glass fish mosaics for the Sensory path.
The pupils have all contributed to our web-based magazine which can be found at: vhwebsite.wixsite/vranchmagazine
The magazine is an interactive way for our home-schooled pupils and leavers to continue to contribute to the Vranch House community.
